This is a collection of mini-puzzle games all put together under a single retro-console simulation from Zachronics, who is known for making games that basically teach engineering and programming. I usually don't want to play their games because I am entering the development field and my appreciation of the game would depend on much the game manages to mask the feeling of programming which I feel would make me biased against the game. However, since there's multiple mini-games to talk about here I don't think I need to worry as much.
There's eight games in total, two of them being different versions of Solitaire, three of them being extremely engineering-focused, a nice little dungeon puzzle game, an arcane block switcher, and a robot miniature building and painter simulator. They're each entirely independent of each other, so it's only fair to treat seperately. If it isn't listed here, I didn't finish it and don't feel like I've done enough of it to rate it.
Sawayama Solitaire: It's solitaire. I beat it like 10 ten times. I rank it B.
STEED FORCE Hobby Studio: Fantastic little simulator that perfectly captures the feeling you get from unboxing a kit, getting all the pieces, painting, and putting everything together. I never did these kinds of miniatures that the game simulates, but I've done similar wooden structures which gave the same feeling. If there was a full game of just this, I'd buy it in a heart beat. I rank it SS.
Dungeons & Diagrams: Great tile-based puzzle based on numbers, walls, enemies, and a little bit of guess work. As a fan of nonograms it was a good time to work through all the puzzles, but some of the final puzzles felt near impossible without at least a little guesswork, though I admit it could be my own fault. I rank it A.
Kabufuda Solitaire: It's Japanese kabufuda solitaire! The easier difficulties felt great, but the final hard and expert versions felt like RNG even though 99% of card piles given are solvable... maybe I just don't know enough about solitaire to enjoy it to its fullest. I rank it B.
As for the other games, I didn't really feel they were engaging enough to work through all the way, but then again I am biased against the engineering focused games. If you like other Zachronics games or like their style of puzzles, this game is fantastic. I'll admit I'd buy this game for Steed Force alone.
