As I continued my search for a game to fill the hole from Outer Wilds, I eventually found TUNIC. It's a difficult game stocked to the brim with secrets to find hiding right under your nose, but don't worry, the game manual will tell you everything you need. The manual is in pieces, and in a language you can't read. Good luck!

This game felt like peeling an onion. It was a standard game at first, but then suddenly the game would just grow and balloon into something more every step of the way. That thing you've been seeing everywhere? You can interact with it! Oh hey, have you ever thought of doing this? Hey, are you getting bored? Here's a secret under your noise that recontextualizes EVERYTHING you've seen thus far.

On top of that, it is a really fun, but really difficult, souls-like. It strikes a pretty good balance of switching between the puzzles and the combat as you beat the main game. Once that's done, there's also a ton more to find, though my only gripe is that the post-game becomes all puzzles and no combat.

Plus, the game is really pretty. The way it uses lighting and the textures you see on the manual and the cute animations of your little fox character (when you aren't dying horribly)...

Go play it and go as blind as possible!
