I'll be posting my thoughts on games as I play them, with the goal to eventually cover every game I've ever played. This means I have to replay childhood favorites and see if they hold up. This is ENTIRELY subjective, since I'm ranking the game based solely on how much I enjoyed the game. There will likely be great games I didn't like, or terrible games that I really enjoyed. If I didn't like the game, you might like it anyway and vice-versa.
If I were to use the standard S - F tierlist, most games would be in the top tiers, half the list would be empty, and it's just overall not interesting. I will instead be using Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity's trick ranking system. It's not perfect, but gives me more room to work with in the upper ranges. This system goes from X - C.
If it has been more than five-ish years since I've played the game and I am realistically able to replay the game, I'll try to replay it before giving my ranking.
I am biased toward the game genres I grew up with - rhythm, puzzle, exploration, and sandbox, as well as any game with a story to follow. I tend to be a completionist at heart, so games that are friendly to that get some extra points. You can also blame Outer Wilds for all the information-based games in the X tier.
I tend to be biased against open-world games, primarily because I played too many of them and got burned out.
It is really hard for me to not like a game, and even then I probably won't rank it below C because games have humans behind them and I can at least tell if something is good but isn't for me.
